Addressing media persons, Pung Mark, president, SDSA stated that during their visit to the accident site, only temporary measures were found installed at the site.
The SDSA had reportedly appealed the State Govt and the district administration for necessary construction and to expand the road wherever necessary.
With no concrete step to protect vehicles at the accident prone zone, another cement loaded truck skidded off the road and fell into Likhru river.
Four precious lives were lost during the previous 2 accidents while the driver and handyman sustained injuries in the latest accident of Tuesday morning.
The student bodies found some lapses in the construction of the bridge that needs to be expanded, said SDSA.
The team found some NHIDCL workers putting up temporary crash barrier and added that temporary measures cannot be the answer.
Despite appeals to the State Govt and district administration, Senapati to act at the earliest possible, no definite change could be seen at the site so far, he lamented.
The student leader warned to take the issue to the Union Ministry concerned if no progress is seen at the earliest Or else the student bodies may be compelled to impose democratic form of agitation including blockade.
State Govt had reportedly assured several times to act at the earliest but nothing has been seen so far, added ther student leader.
The injured driver was today identified as one, Md Barish Khan, s/o Md Ajijur Rahman of Lilong Makha Leikai and the injured handyman as Md Mustakim s/o Md Sana of Lilong Chingkham Makha Dam.
