After 137 days, State reports no Covid death

With no report of COVID-19 related death during the last 24 hours, the State has achieved a major milestone in its ongoing battle against the pandemic.
Notably, the State has been registering a number of COVID-19 related deaths since April 24 this year.
So far, the pandemic has already claimed 1802 people in the State.
For 137 days, the dreaded virus killed one or more people in the State without any respite.
Even though there was no COVID related death during the last 24 hours, 282 people including 12 personnel of CAPF were tested positive.
They were tested positive at RIMS, JNIMS and other testing centres.
The civilians who have been tested positive are residents of Imphal East (66), Imphal West (120), Thoubal (11), Bishnupur (10), Kakching (8), Ukhrul (18), Churachandpur (9), Chandel (6), Senapati (3), Tamenglong (7), Tengnoupal (2), Jiribam (1), Noney (1), Pherzawl (3), Kamjong (2) and Kangpokpi (3) .

On the other hand, following recovery, 294 COVID-19 positive people were discharged during the last 24 hours from home isolation (95), RIMS (16), JNIMS (14), CCCs (97) and CHCs (72) .
The cumulative number of positive cases is 1,15,866 (general population 1,11,719 and Central security personnel 4,147) .
This figure includes 3,168 active cases (general population 3,132 and Central security personnel 36) and 1,10,896 recovered cases (general population 1,06,790 and Central security personnel 4,106) .
The recovery rate as on Tuesday is 95.71 per cent.
The total number of people vaccinated against COVID-19 in the State has reached 15,69,582 (1st dose 11,95,584 and 2nd dose 3,73,998) .
This figure is inclusive of 7823 people vaccinated yesterday.
With 282 people confirmed positive out of 3,539 samples tested during the last 24 hours, the positivity rate stands at 8 per cent.
