Daily count swings up, 1 death reported in last 48 hrs

Imphal, January 07 2022:
In an upsurge in the number of COVID-19 cases in the last couple of days, Manipur recorded 107 new COVID-19 cases and 1 death in the last 48 hours.
The State currently has 346 active cases.
Positive Cases
Out of the 107 new cases, 59 cases (including 16 CAPF personnel) were reported yesterday while 48 cases (including 6 CAPF personnel) were detected today from across the State.
The daily positivity rates were 2.9 percent and 2.4 percent respectively.
The positive 85 cases in the last 48 hours from amongst the civilians were reported from Imphal East (15), Imphal West (33), Thoubal (5), Bishnupur (5), Kakching (1), Senapati (2), Tamenglong (1), Ukhrul (1), Kangpokpi (2), Chandel (4), Noney (1) and Churachandpur (15).A total of 4036 samples (1967 today and 2069 yesterday) were tested during the last 48 hours.
The cumulative positive cases in the State has reached 1,26,012 (1,21,536 from the general population and 4476 CAPF personnel) .
Covid Fatalities
With a single Covid related death reported on Jan 6, the cumulative death toll now stands at 2009 .
Positivity Rate
With the detection of 2 positive cases out of 14 samples tested during the last 24 hours, Noney district reportedthe highest daily positive rate of 14.3 in the last 24 hours while it had reported a daily positive rate of 12.5 percent the previous day.
Ukhrul also had a high daily positivity rate of 10.9 (14 cases out of 128 samples tested) the previous day.
All other districts reported a daily positivity rate below 5 percent.
Recovery
28 individuals (10 yesterday and 18 today) were discharged from home isolation (4), RIMS (1), JNIMS (5) and CCCs (18).The recovery rate has further reduced to 98.13 percent from 98.15 percent the
previous day.
Vaccination
9,785 doses of COVID-19 vaccines were administered on Jan 5 and Jan 6 together.
With this, the cumulative vaccine doses already administered in the State is now 23,37,615 (13,35,444 1st dose and 10,02,171 2nd dose) .
42.81 percent of the eligible population of the State have received both dose of the vaccine while 56.90 percent of the eligible population have received the first dose.
Jiribam with 59.07 percent, Imphal West with 58.19 percent and Imphal East with 53.57 percent are the districts with the highest number of Covid double vaccination, while Kangpokpi (13.10 percent), Ukhrul (18.38 percent) and Senapati (24.52 percent) are the worst performing districts on the vaccination front.
