Covid claims 3 more, TPR rises to 2.6 pc

The Covid-19 pandemic has claimed three more lives in the State, pushing the death toll to 1985 while the daily positivity rate rose to 2.6 per cent as compared to yesterday's 2.2 per cent.
As per a report of the State Level Covid-19 Deaths Audit Committee, the three victims belonged to Imphal East (2) and Imphal West (1) .
All of them had co-morbidities and one of them had received first dose of Covid vaccine.
The other two were not vaccinated, according to the report.
On the other hand, 29 persons were found to be Covid positive at RIMS (3), JNIMS (3) and other testing centres (23), out of 1,097 samples tested during the last 24 hours.
The fresh positive cases belong to Imphal East (9), Imphal West (11), Bishnupur (4), Chandel (1), Senapati (3) and Ukhrul (1), according to a bulletin issued by Additional Director (Health) and Covid-19 Common Control Room spokesman Dr Khoirom Sasheekumar Mangang.
Bishnupur district recorded the highest positi- vity rate at 7.4 per cent followed by Imphal East 4.9 per cent and Imphal West 3 per cent.
Following recovery, 38 Covid-19 positive people were discharged during the last 24 hours from home isolation (13), RIMS (1), JNIMS (3) and CCCs (21) .
The cumulative number of positive cases has reached 1,25,389 (general population 1,20,956 and Central security personnel 4,433) .
This figure includes 341 active cases (general population 323 and Central security personnel 18) and 1,23,063 recovered cases (general population 1,18,653 and Central security personnel 4,410) .
The recovery rate as on Monday is 98.14 per cent.
A total of 530 D-type oxygen cylinders and 260 B-type oxygen cylinders were made available to different health facilities of the State yesterday.
Taking into account 3237 doses administered yesterday, the cumulative number of Covid vaccine doses administered in the State has reached 21,95,684 (first dose 12,91,309 and second dose 9,04,375) .
Till December 5, 65.60 per cent of the State's eligible population has been given the first dose of Covid vaccine while 45.94 per cent has been given both the first and second doses.
