Manipur continues to log above 700 cases with 742, 14 deaths

Imphal, August 06 2021:
The daily new cases count continue to be above the 700 mark, with Manipur yet again reporting 742 new cases in the last 24 hours to take the cumulative number of positive cases to 10,2889 including 4,053 Central security personnel.
The 742 new cases were detected out of a total of 5,055 samples tested taking the daily positivity rate to 14.7 percent.
Manipur also returned to the double digit surge in the number of deaths with the last 24 hours recording 14 deaths from across the State.
The State Level COVID-19 Deaths Audit Committee reported 14 deaths from across the State, said the COVID-19 Common Control Room in a statement today.
The deceased persons belonged to Imphal West (4), Imphal East (5), Thoubal (2), Bishnupur (1) and Kakching (2) .
Out of the 14 deceased persons, nine had comorbidities and only 5 of them had received their first vaccination shot.
The cumulative number of deaths due to the virus has now risen to 1628.The total of 742 persons who tested positive in the last 24 hours include 54 Central security personnel and the 688 civilians include 353 women.
The positive status of the 742 persons were confirmed during testing at RIMS (21), JNIMS (77), District Hospitals (486) and other testing centres (158).The 688 positive cases from amongst the civilians are from Imphal East (141), Imphal West (235), Thoubal (31), Bishnupur (50), Kakching (34), Ukhrul (8), Churachandpur (88), Chandel (19), Senapati (14), Tamenglong (7), Tengnoupal (7), Noney (2), Pherzawl (4Q), Kamjong (6) and Kangpokpi (6) .
All necessary measures including containment and contact tracing are in place, said the COVID-19 Common Control Room.
In the last 24 hours a total of 1047 persons were discharged including from home isolation (434), RIMS (29), JNIMS (15), CCCs (229) and CHICs (340) .
The cumulative number of recovered cases has now gone up to 92,894 including 3955 Central security personnel and the number of active cases is 8,367 .
The recovery rate has gone up to 90.28 percent.
On August 5, 8496 people received their vaccination jabs to take the total number of vaccinated people to 13,68,523 .
Out of this total the number of people who have received their second dose is 2,33,708 .
In the last 24 hours, a total of 1722 D Type Oxygen cylinders and 311 B Type Oxygen cylinders were made available to different health centres across the State.
The number of Covid beds available at different health centres as on August 6, 2021 are Hand Hospital (General beds-20), MSF, Little Flower School (1 ICU bed), CMC, Koirengei (General beds-30, ICU beds-5), Iboyaima Hospital (General beds-20), Jivan Hospital, Kakching (General beds-14, ICU beds-8), Shija Hospital (General beds-S, ICU beds-5), Raj Medicity (General beds-33, ICU beds-11), RIMS (General beds-73, ICU beds-23) .
