Senapati, January 06 2013 :
The United Naga Council is set to launch a a series of intense agitation soon to demand an 'Alternative Arrangement' for the Nagas of Manipur outside the Government of Manipur, pending a settlement to the Indo-Naga political issue.
Sources said that a consultative meeting of the UNC was held yesterday at Senapati where Naga frontal organisation leaders, MLAs, social workers, former MLAs and former Ministers took part.
The meeting agreed that the proposed agitation will be purely a democratic movement.
"We will not subscribe to any form of violence, nor a communal approach.
Ours is purely a democratic movement," said the UNC sources.

The UNC leaders added that they will not support any mob activities.
"Anyone trying to misguide the movement by way of building up a mob will not be supported by us," said the UNC leaders.
When queried about the time the agitation is likely to start, the UNC leaders said, "For the time being we would like to keep the proceedings of today's meeting confidential.
We will spell it out at the right time.
But it will not take much time," added the UNC leaders.
