COVID tally shoots over 12,000

The State's COVID tally has crossed over 12,000 after 250 people including 58 personnel of CAPF were tested positive during the last 24 hours.
According to a press release issued by Additional Director (Health) and COVID-19 Common Control Room spokesman Dr Khoirom Sasheekumar Mangang, 250 people were tested positive during the last 24 hours at RIMS, JNIMS, Ukhrul, Thoubal, Raj Medicity, Shija Hospital, Tengnoupal, Churachandpur, Imphal East, Bishnupur, Tamenglong, Kangpokpi, Babina Diagnostics, Hillside Hospital and Imphal West.
Of the 192 civilians who have been tested positive, 56 are residents of Imphal West, two of Ukhrul, 15 of Thoubal, four of Bishnupur, 21 of Kakching, eight of Tamenglong, 17 of Churachandpur, 57 of Imphal East, three of Kangpokpi, one of Senapati and eight of Tengnoupal.
None of them has any significant history of travelling outside the State.
On the other hand, 129 people were discharged during the last 24 hours from home isolation (9), CCC UNACCO (17), JNIMS (15), CCC Lamding (11), CCC Lamboi Khongnangkhong (64), CCC Thoubal (5) and CAPF (8) .
The cumulative figure of COVID-19 positive cases in the State has touched 12,105 (general population 9642, Central security personnel 2463).It includes 2696 active cases (general population 2322, Central security personnel 374) and 9334 discharged cases (general population 7248, Central security personnel 2086).The recovery rate is 77.10 per cent.
Further, a late report informed that out of 457 samples tested today at JNIMS, 44 were found infected by the contagion.
Out of these 44 people, 31 belong to Imphal East district.
Moreover, 52 people were tested positive in Imphal West district and seven of them are residents of Singjamei Leishangthem Leikai.
