COVID-19 claims one more, 154 with no travel history test positive

Another COVID-19 positive case, a 65-year old man from Thoubal district died at JNIMS today taking the death toll to 36 in the State.
The man who was also reportedly suffering from diabetes and hypertension was admitted at JNIMS on September 3 but he died at around 2.30 am today.
Counting the latest victim, 10 residents of Thoubal district have died of the contagion till date.
A press release issued by Additional Director (Health) and COVID-19 Common Control Room spokesman Dr Khoirom Sasheekumar Mangang said 184 individuals including 24 personnel of CAPF were tested positive for COVID-19 during the last 24 hours at JNIMS, RIMS, Ukhrul, Imphal East, Kangpokpi, Raj Medicity, Churachandpur and Bishnupur.
Of the 160 civilians who have been found infected by the virus, 98 belong to Imphal West, 12 to Imphal East, one to Ukhrul, three to Bishnupur, 19 to Thoubal, four to Churachandpur, nine to Tengnoupal, one to Tamenglong, seven to Kangpokpi, one to Senapati and six to Noney.
154 of them have no significant history of travelling outside the State.
Meanwhile, 76 COVID-19 patients have been discharged from CCC Lamboi Khongnangkhong (29), Moreh (2), RIMS (4), Thoubal (27) and CAPF (14) during the last 24 hours after they were found free of the virus.
The cumulative figure of COVID-19 positive cases has reached 6883 in the State (general population 5206, Central security personnel 1677).It includes 1872 active cases (general population 1283, Central security personnel 589) and 4975 discharged cases (general population 3889, Central security personnel 1086) .
The recovery rate as on Saturday is 72.27 per cent.
On the other hand, information received from Imphal West district administration said that 65 other people were also found infected by the virus in the district today.
Five of them are commando personnel while six are residents of Naorem-thong Laishram Leirak.
10 others are residents of Thangal Keithel.
Whereas 11 persons were found infected by the contagion after rapid antigen test in Thoubal, 13 others tested positive for COVID-19 at JNIMS today.
