Long term town plan on Govt agenda

In order to address the problem of traffic congestion in Imphal city, the Government of Manipur is working on a long term plan which would remain effective even after 50 years from today.
This was stated by Chief Minister O Ibobi today while visiting The Sangai Express (English edition) Editor Hijam Rajesh and 15 students of Evergreen Flower School at Shija Hospitals and Research Institute.
The Chief Minister stated that a ring road would be constructed around Imphal city so as to reduce traffic congestion within the city.
Moreover, a bypass which can divert heavy vehicles from highways passing through the capital city would be constructed soon.

A master plan which can effectively address the problem of traffic congestion in Imphal city for the next 50 years is being worked out in consultation with the Town Planning Department.
Observing that Editor Hijam Rajesh's condition has improved a bit, the Chief Minister wished that the Editor recuperate speedily.
The Chief Minister was accompanied by his wife MLA O Landhoni and MLA Fazur Rahim.
Chief Secretary PC Lawmkunga and many other personalities separately visited Hijam Rajesh at the hospital.
Editor Rajesh met with a road accident on his way back from office in the night of June 3 at Keishampat near the Raj Bhavan.
Earlier Governor VK Duggal and MLA Joykisan visited the Editor at Shija Hospital yesterday separately.
