Many of the chemist shops are facing shortage of pharmaceutical items like spirit, savlon solution, high infection kit, gown and other drugs, he said asserting that shortage of medical supplies at this time of lockdown will deepen the woes of the people specially the patients who need life saving drugs.
Pharmaceutical stockists in the State have been providing life saving drugs and medicines to the chemist shops by using "available means" till now, he said adding many of the shops are running out of many life saving drugs.
The State Government and drug stockists should make prior arrangement to replenish the stocks in time and ensure drugs and other medical items are available to chemist shops and public at ease, he said.
Further commenting on the steps being taken up by the hospital amidst the coronavirus outbreak, he lauded JNIMS authority for maintaining separate passageways/lanes for entrance and exit of various types of patients.
Asking all who come at the hospital to follow the safety guidelines issued by the authority, Sanathoi also appealed the public to maintain social distancing when they buy drugs from shops.
