High surge continues with 765 more cases, 14 deaths

Imphal, August 04 2021:
The high surge continues with 765 persons testing positive for coronavirus in the last 24 hours to take the cumulative number of positive cases to 101,390 .
The 765 cases were detected while testing a total of 5,295 samples to take the daily positivity rate to 14.4 percent.
Manipur also recorded 14 more deaths due to the virus in the last 24 hours to take the total number of deaths to 1606.Out of the 14 persons who succumbed to the virus, only three had received the first dose of the vaccine, said the COVID-19 Common Control Room quoting the State Level COVID-19 Deaths Audit Committee.
Four others had comorbidities.
The deceased persons belonged to Imphal West (4), Imphal East (1), Bishnupur (1), Kakching (2), Chandel (1), Kangpokpi (2), Ukhrul (1) and Churachandpur (2) .
The 765 new cases include two Central security personnel and their positive status was confirmed while testing at RIMS (39), JNIMS (27), District Hospitals (517) and other testing centres (182) .
The 763 civilians who tested positive for the virus are from Imphal East (149), Imphal West (285), Thoubal (51), Bishnupur (100), Kakching (22), Ukhrul (5), Churachandpur (65), Chandel (16), Senapati (8), Tamenglong (19), Tengnoupal (7), Jiribam (2), Noney (1), Pherzawl (6), Kamjong (11) and Kangpokpi (16) .
Necessary precautionary measures including containment and contact tracing are in place, said the COVID-19 Common Control Room.
On the other hand 1226 persons were discharged during the last 24 hours from home isolation (633), RIMS (16), JNIMS (18), CCCs (225) and CHICs (334) .
The cumulative number of recovered cases is 90,769 including 3949 and the recovery rate has improved to 89.52 percent.
The number of active cases is 9015 including 41 Central security personnel.
On August 3, a total of 10011 people received their vaccination shot taking the total number of vaccinated people to 13,47,537 including 2,23,900 who have received their second dose.
In the last 24 hours, a total of 2259 D Type Oxygen cylinders and 363 B Type Oxygen cylinders were made available to different health centres.
The number of Covid beds available at different health centres are Hand Hospital (General beds-15), MSF, Little Flower School (4 ICU beds), CMC, Koirengei (General beds-27, ICU beds-3), Iboyaima Hospital (General beds-11), Jivan Hospital, Kakching (General beds-13, ICU beds-6), Shija Hospital (General beds-3, ICU beds-8), Raj Medicity (General beds-33, ICU beds-10) .
