Imphal, May 04 2020:
After a gap of 43 days, many shops of Paona Keithel, Thangal Keithel and other areas of Imphal city were reopened today following relaxation of the country-wide lockdown and Manipur being in the Green Zone.
Shops on either side of Paona Keithel road were found opened today.
Roadside shops of Thangal Keithel including Alu Gali and MG Avenue were also opened.
However, shops located inside galis or alleys were barred from re-opening.
Roadside shops of Nagamapal and Wahengbam Leikai too pulled up their shutters.

But the three Ima Keithels and the temporary market of Khwairamband are yet to be reopened.
Although the temporary market shed is still unoccupied, it looked quite filthy with all kinds of waste materials and garbage strewn around.
Talking to The Sangai Express, IMC Assistant Commissioner (Revenue) Ksh Gyanendro said that women vendors who possess vendor licences but could not be accommodated in the three Ima Keithels were given space at the temporary market shed.
They would be given permanent plots at the market complex being constructed at the erstwhile Tombisana High School compound, Gyanendro said.
He said that the IMC would hold a meeting about the temporary market shed today itself.
All the garbage and waste materials strewn inside the temporary market shed would be removed and whole market would be cleaned thoroughly.
Running tea or rice hotels inside the market shed would be prohibited henceforth but women vendors may sell other items.
Moreover, fishmongers would not be allowed to cut or dress fishes inside the market shed, Gyanendro said.
The IMC Assistant Commissioner said that necessary measures would be taken up to see that the market shed is kept neat and clean.
Saying that CCTV cameras would be installed in the market shed, Gyanendro said that punitive actions would be initiated as per relevant rules if any vendor is found dirtying the market.
After cleaning it thoroughly, the temporary market shed would be disinfected, he added.
