Congress MLA's cousin brother found murdered

In a spine-chilling incident, a cousin brother of DK Korungthang, the Congress MLA elected from Tengnoupal Assembly Constituency, was found hacked to death by unknown persons at a spot in between K Minou and Khangsing Village in Chandel district at around 9.30 am today.
The deceased cousin brother of DK Korungthang has been identified as DK Moshilpha Maring alias James (60), s/o (late) DK Koin of Laiching Minou Village under Machi Block of Tengnoupal Sub-division in Chandel district.
He is survived by his wife and five children.
Fathers of Korungthang and the deceased Moshilpha are brothers and Moshilpha was the first cousin of Korungthang.
According to family members, today morning, Moshilpha, who worked as a Grade IV employee in the PHED (Water supply) at Laiching Minou, first went to Kakching market along with his wife on his motorcycle Caliber bearing registration number MN-04 B/1506.After returning home and taking his lunch, he set out from home again for Imphal on his motorcycle all alone.

The spot where the body of Moshilpha was found with deep cut marks on his head and neck is located some 2 km away from his village.
The motorcycle was found abandoned six feet away from the dead body.
It is suspected that Moshilpha may have been waylaid by the attacker/s, who were armed with sharp weapons as there were deep wounds on his neck and head.
On hearing the news of the incident, MLA D.Korungthang, SDO Machi, SPs of Chandel & Thoubal, ASP Chandel rushed in to the crime spot.
On inspection, the police found Moshilpha's mobile phone and wallet containing about Rs.3000 cash were missing from his body.
The number of the missing mobile phone is 897442549 .
Talking to mediapersons, MLA DK Korungthang said that such brutal murder of an innocent person should be condemned by one and all.
He also appealed to all not to view the incident on communal line.
A team of Tengnoupal Police led by OC M.U.Alam picked up the dead body and deposited it at JNIMS Mortuary for post-mortem.
Tengnoupal Police have also registered a case and started an investigation into the incident.
Meanwhile, a Joint Action Committee (JAC) formed under the name of JAC against the brutal murder of DK.
James @ Moshilpha Maring has warned of launching intense agitations if the State Government fails to book the culprits within 48 hours.
The JAC has also demanded payment of ex-gratia and providing a suitable Government job under die-in-harness to the bereaved family.
