Imphal, March 02 2016:
Around 40 hours after the Court ordered her release, police have taken Irom Chanu Sharmila to JNIMS hospital for medical check-up from Shahid Minar where she has been continuing her indefinite hunger strike at around 10.45 am today.
She is likely to be formally arrested from the hospital under Section 309 for staging the stir.
Today morning, a medical team came to Shahid Minar to examine Sharmila's condition.
However, the anti-AFSPA campaigner refused to get her health examined.
She asked the team not to check her health forcefully.

As her condition deteriorated, a large police team led by Additional SP (Law and Order) S Ibomcha picked up Sharmila from Shahid Minar amidst stiff resistance and hue and cry of her supporters and took her to the security ward of JNIMS hospital at around 10.45 am.
Sources said that she refused to get her health checked inside the security ward as well.
Sharmila's supporters including volunteers of Sharmila Kanba Lup and CSO members followed the Iron Lady up to JNIMS hospital.
A doctor told this reporter that apart from overall health check-up, Sharmila's internal organs would be thoroughly examined and observed.
Talking to The Sangai Express, Sharmila's mother Irom Sakhi said that the Government is still unmoved although her daughter has been fasting since the past 15 years demanding repeal of draconian AFSPA.
Sakhi was visibly emotional when she said that she does not know whether she would be alive to see her daughter's success.
She said that although she follows Sharmila's news, she would never meet her daughter until she achieves her goal.
Sakhi said that she has given her blessings to her daughter to return home with success when Sharmila left home to begin her campaign.
Around five years back, Sakhi said, Sharmila expressed her desire to meet her when she came to JNIMS hospital for asthma treatment.
Wiping her tear, Sakhi said, she however forwarded a message to Sharmila to meet her only when she achieves her goal.
Meanwhile different organisations have condemned the Government for taking Irom Chanu Sharmila to the security ward of JNIMS hospital again, our correspondent reports from Jiribam.
Barak Human Rights Protection Committee (BHRPC), Silchar law and legal affairs director Walliullah Ahmed decried the police for forcefully taking the Iron Lady to the hospital.
He urged the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) to look into the matter.
All Assam Manipuri Students' Union (AAMSU) vice-presidents Lokenath and Prosen Kumar and general secretary W Modhusudon also strongly condemned the Government for forcefully taking Sharmila to the security ward of JNIMS hospital although the Court had rejected the charge levelled against her under Section 309 .
