Senapati remains at the bottom among the districts in terms of vaccination as the hill district has fully vaccinated only 11.63 percent of its adult population while at the top stands Jiribam which has administered Covid vaccine 2nd dose to 63.02 percent of its eligible population.
The districts which have vaccinated less than 20 percent of its adult population are Senapati (11.63 percent); Tamenglong (16.53 percent); Ukhrul (16.53 percent); Kangpokpi (19 percent) and Kamjong (13.87 percent), which coincidentally are but hill districts while Jiribam (63.02 percent) and Imphal West (54.70 percent) are the only districts which have fully vaccinated over half of its eligible population.
Overall, the State has fully vaccinated only 36.91 of its adult population.
Covid count of the last 24 hours
The Covid death toll in Manipur has risen to 1,921 with the addition of one more death from Churachandpur in the last 24 hours.
The deceased was not vaccinated.
In the period, at least 63 fresh Covid cases were also reported from across the State, pushing the caseload further to 1,23,731 .
The new cases were confirmed at RIMS (7), JNIMS (9) and other testing centres (47) while those from the general population are residents of Imphal East (12), Imphal West (30), Thoubal (2), Kakching (1), Ukhrul (1), Churachandpur (4), Jiribam (1), Kamjong (9) and Tamenglong (1) .
As 1,689 samples were tested in the period, the positivity rate updated on Sunday by the COVID-19 Common Control Room was 3.7 percent.
District wise, Kamjong reported the highest positivity rate at 8.5 percent and it is followed by Imphal West (6.5 percent), Jiribam (5.6 percent) in the second and third place.
With at least 62 persons discharged from Home Isolation (16), JNIMS (21) and CCCs (25) today, the recovery rate has improved to 97.88 percent against 97.87 updated yesterday.
The number of active cases is 708.Yesterday, 454 D type and 57 B type oxygen cylinders were distributed to different healthcare facilities in Manipur and administered 13523 Covid vaccine doses.
