Manipur today witnessed one of the largest mass rally here in the heart of Imphal city, cautioning the government of India of unwanted consequences to any move which may distort the integrity of the state.
Number of people taking part could not be established at the moment however, the four lane road from Wahengbam Leikai, near Bir Tikendrajit to Keishampat and till Kwakeithel was jam packed with rally participants holding placards denouncing any attempt to distort the integrity of Manipur in any form.
The mass rally organised by the United Committee Manipur (UCM) supported by various civil society bodies from across the state kicked start from TRAU Ground at Tiddim Road and then after passing through Wahengbam Leikai road , Khuyathong and Thangmeiband road the rally concluded at Khuman Lampak Hockey ground.

When over lakhs and lakhs of people are crying with tears and anger for protection of the territorial integrity of the state, when people from interior part of the state spend sleepless night to reach Imphal for joining the rally, some people were seen busy organizing events like I - league football match which anger some of the participants.
The concluding venue of the mass rally was earlier scheduled at Khuman Lampak Main stadium but later shifted to the Hockey Stadium due to the I-League match.
On the other many attempts were notice to sabotage the rally from various section but the anger and enthusiasm to protect the integrity of the state had foiled every attempt and gave a befitting reply.
Even the day is also coincided with the Government sponsored run for nation to commemorate the birth anniversary of the Sardar Vallabalabhai Patel.
However, amidst skepticism the turn out surprises even the government.
Since early morning large number of police force have been deployed at all the route that the rally is coming.
Strict security measures have been taken up to avoid any unwanted incident during the rally.
On the other hand, Local clubs members provided drinking water at various places to assist the participants.

Ajit, an activist while talking to Imphal Times said that today's rally will remain as another history.
As India today celebrates the birth anniversary of the Sardar Patel, known as iron man of India and Manipur staged a historic rally which perhaps witnessed the highest turn out, people of the state will remember the day as India is erecting the tallest statue of the man whom the people blamed for his role in the annexation of the erstwhile kingdom.
Today's rally was participated by leaders of 13 different ethnic communities of the state.

Gaikhem, Chairman, ZU, Imphal Zone, Mangcha Haokip President Kuki Inpi , Imphal Zonem H.Moses Tangkhul , RT Akhel Aimol, Manga Vaiphei, among others.
