Three Nizamuddin returnees taken to JNIMS with fever

Out of 14 people from the State who took part in a religious con-gregation held at south Delhi's Nizamuddin earlier this month, three have been taken to JNIMS with high fever, while due process has been initiated to put the other 11 in quarantine centres.
Meanwhile, the State Government has been searching addresses of all those people from Manipur who were present at Nizamuddin area during the congregation.
Delhi-based headquarters of Tablighi Jamaat in Nizamuddin West has turned into a hotspot for COVID-19.Ten people who attended the congregation have died of COVID-19 .
Out of the 14 individuals who took part in the religious congregation, 10 have been identified but the other four could not be traced till date, informed a source.
Four of them belong to Imphal East, four to Thoubal and the other two hail from Bishnupur district.
The three who have been admitted in JNIMS belong to Imphal East.
Some of them reached Imphal on March 13 and March 19 but none of them have shown any symptom of COVID-19 as yet with the exception of the three from Imphal East.
Their samples would be tested for COVID-19, said the source.
A press release issued by the State Government's COVID-19 Central Control Room said that 14 persons linked to the religious conference have been traced.
Out of them, three have been pulled up for testing and the remaining 11 would be screened.
All the people who went to Nizamuddin area during the religious congregation which was held in mid-March are being traced from their phone numbers.
On checking phone calls made in and around Niza-muddin area during the particular period, it was established that many people from Manipur were present in the area.
Mobile numbers of all the people who went to the area from March 14 to 22 are being examined and it is also being checked whether any one of them has been placed in quarantine centres.
Event though the phone numbers are available, there are many cases where the names of phone owners and their addresses do not match.
Notably, 206 people have been already confined in 16 quarantine centres opened in different districts of the State.
It has been reported that 12 family members of the woman from Thangmeiband who tested positive for COVID-19 have been tested and they turned out to be negative.
