Rules and Regulations for Miss Manipur 2011

  • 1. Who can participate?

    Any woman of Indian origin (regardless of her place of birth) between the ages of 16 and 25 for Miss Manipur is eligible to participate. The contestant must be a resident of the state of Manipur. Appropriate documentation regarding the age and the residency status of the contestant must be submitted in order to meet eligibility requirements.

    2. Contestants regulations:

    The contestant must behave in a manner befitting the title of Miss Manipur. All contestants must submit a registration fee of Rs.1000/-(non-refundable) with three photographs-one close-up, one mid-short and one full length.

    3. The screening of the contestants will be done on 25 April 2011 at Imphal Hotel from 9 am onwards.

    Results of the screening will be declared on the same day.

    4. Each contestant will be allowed to be escorted with one guardian/ helper.

    5. The selected contestant will be put through grooming and etiquette classes.

    6. The sub- title rounds will be conducted before the main event and the dates will be intimidated accordingly by the organizers.

    7. Refreshments will be provided by the organizers to all contestants on each day of the period of the contest including the sub-titles.

    8. Conveyance to the venue of the events will be borne by the contestants.

    9. Judging Criteria:

    Participants of the Miss Manipur will be judged in the following categories:

    a) Traditional round: All the contestants must wear the actual traditional dress of Manipur and introduce themselves in the best way they can.

    b) Casual round: In this particular round the designers of each contestant should use the handloom products of Manipur using his/her own creativity to promote the beautiful craft of Manipur.

    c) Evening gown round: All the contestants must wear the evening gown white in color.

    d) Question and answer (Top 10 participants).

    e) 5 days ahead of the event each contestant has to submit their dresses to be worn in the event (casual and evening) as to check the code of conduct of the dresses.

    The first round of elimination will be based on the scores from the traditional, casual and evening gown rounds. The top 10 participants in the Miss Manipur will graduate to the questions and answer segment from which top 5 participants will be selected and they will graduate to the second round of question and answer segment. And based on this result the three winners will be announced.

    Judges will be selected for Miss Manipur 2011. They will be eminent, respected members of Indian community. The FOUR HOPES reserves the right to appoint all such judges. The DECISION OF THE JUDGES, ONCE TABULATED, IS FINAL. THE FOUR HOPES BEARS NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE DECISIONS OF THE JUDGES.

    11. All contestants for Miss Manipur 2011 will be required to report no later than 4 pm on the day of Miss Manipur Pageant to be held at the final rehearsal. All contestants are required to attend all meetings unless other arrangements have been made in advance. Contestants are responsible for their food, transportation and lodging expenses.

    FOUR HOPES will not be liable for any loss of properties, physical injuries or any other claims by the contestants or their parents or representatives. The foregoing rules are subject to change by FOUR HOPES at anytime which shall intimated. All decisions regarding the eligibility of the contestant and the conduct of the Miss Manipur, in general, are subject to ultimate approval by the President, FOUR HOPES. The decision of President, FOUR HOPES shall be final in all matters.
