ESU, YWC romp in Women's Football League

The 13th AMFA Senior Women's Football League on Friday saw 10 goals being scored across two matches as Eastern Sporting Union and The Young Welfare Club churned out big wins.
Eastern Sporting Union started the day with a 3-0 drubbing of ICSA Irengbam at Artificial Turf Ground, Lamlong Thongkhong.
After futile efforts in the early stages of the first period, ESU finally broke ICSA's resistance in the 37th minute with a 37th-minute strike from Sultana.
They made further inroads when Irom Prameshwori buried the ball in the back of the net in the 58th minute.
Then it was up to Moirangthem Mandakini who was on target in the 67th minute to wrap up their collection and victory.
In the other match, Heigrujam Daya struck twice in The Young Welfare Club's 6-0 hammering of Youth Welfare Club.
S Lynda Kom set the tone for the goal rush with an 11th-minute opener as Toijam Thoibisana Chanu doubled the lead seven minutes later before Daya tripled the advantage in the 48th minute.
Young YC's lead stretched further to 4-0 when Youth YC conceded an own goal via a defensive error by Melody Wangkheirakpam.
Then Laishram Rejiya made it 5-0 in the 70th minute before Daya scored her second goal in the 79th minute to ensure her side racked up a huge win.
