MSL: Wins for MA, YUFC as GSC hold SSU

Muvanlai Athletics (Kangpokpi) and YUFC (Ukhrul) carried the day as GSC (Churachandpur) and SSU (Singjamei) played out a 3-3 draw in the 14th Manipur State League on Tuesday.
Muvanlai Athletics started the day's fixtures with a convincing 4-2 win over UKB (Churachandpur).
Lunginthang gave Muvanlai the lead after 21 minutes but UKB cancelled out in the 32nd minute courtesy of Paolenlal.
Satgouthang put the Kangpokpi squad back in front after finding the back of the net in the 34th minute as Muvanlai kept their lead intact through the remaining minutes of the first period.
After the interval, Muvanlai made further inroads with a 72nd-minute strike from Kaiminlen before Paolenlal slotted home his second goal in the 76th minute for UKB.
Muvanlai then added a goal in the 84th minute through Lunginthang to make sure they ran out 4-2 winners.
YUFC, meanwhile, produced a clinical attacking display with an 8-0 thrashing of DMRAO (Awang Sekmai) as Ayat Chipang grabbed a hat-trick.
Ayat Chiphang opened the floodgates with a 15th-minute effort and Blessing doubled the lead in the space of three minutes before Rs Themchui struck in a double (28th, 43rd) to give the Ukhrul side a commanding 4-0 lead, heading into the second half.
Jullian found their fifth goal in the 54th minute as Ayat Chiphang netted his second goal to make it 6-0 and H Abungo was on target in the 67th minute to further stretch their lead to 7-0.Then it was up to Ayat Chipang who completed his treble in the 85th minute to steer YUFC to an emphatic 8-0 triumph.
Kamlalzom's last-gasp goal salvaged a 3-3 draw for GSC against SSU.
GSC took the lead in the 25th minute through Jesie but SSU restored parity five minutes later after Ch Commander made his effort count.
The Churachandpur side regained their lead in the 41st minute with Seigoumang on strike before SSU equalised again in the 54 th minute through H Shital and the Singjamei team went on to overturn the sco reline after L Roshan converted in the 56th minute.
Just when it looked SSU were heading for a narrow win, Kamlalzom sprang a surprise scoring in the final seconds of stoppage time to ensure a 3-3 draw for GSC.
