TYDA, SAI-RFA, AMOFA-A and SWC reach last 16 round as Sub-Jr Boys Inter Club Football tourney begins

The 1st Sub Junior Boys Inter Club Football Tournament 2019 organised under the supervision of All Manipur Football Association (AMFA) began today at Turf Ground, Khuman Lampak.
The tournament participated by 24 teams from different districts was inaugurated in the presence of AMFA president, Moirangthem Ratankumar; secretary L Jyotirmoy Roy and others.
The opening day also saw TYDA, Bishnupur; SAI RFA Imphal West; AMOFA-A Bishnupur and SWC, Kakching making it to pre quarter final stage with wins over their respective rivals.
The first match witnessed TYDA, Bishnupur edge past BMSC Imphal, Imphal West by 1-0, riding on sole goal by Julehjit in the 9th minute.
The match also saw TYDA being reduce to 10-man in the 47th minute as Sanathoi saw the red card.
In the second match, SAI RFA had a comfortable 2-0 win over IFC, Imphal West.
Ningyam Zingkhai scored the opener in the 53th minute to give his side a 1-0 lead after a barren first half before Naorem Sangker banged in the finisher during the additional time (80+3') .
AMOFA-A Bishnupur drubbed SYC Imphal West by 6-1 in another match scheduled today as Abdul Kalam (11'); Raj (15'); Newton (17'); Sidartha (32'); Ashnikumar (49') and Naresh (53') all found the net.
The only goal for the losing side was scored by Bikas in the 46th minute.
Elsewhere in the last match, SWC Kakching sealed a narrow 2-1 win over BUC, Churachadpur to advance into the last 16 round.
Th Nongdamba (4') and U Avinash (6') scored in quick succession to give SWC a 2-0 lead while BUC grabbed the consolation goal in the 25th minute through Sang Biak Thang.
