PTRC, CYCLONE record six-match unbeaten runs

Both PTRC and CYCLONE continued their six-match unbeaten run with relative ease in the MNCA Elite Tournament on Saturday.
PTRC overwhelmed MPSC by 114 runs to record their sixth win on the trot at Oriental College.
The Patsoi side opted to bat and piled up 236/8 in their 40 overs.
Jotin Pheroijam made the most of the innings with a blistering knock of 81 off 49 .
Jotin's stellar batting show was laced with nine fours and three sixes.
Ngariyanbam Johnson, who batted at No 2, did his bit with 53 off 71 balls while Khangembam Santosh, who opened the innings, made 34 off 34 balls.
Other contributors in double digits were Gemson Mutum (19), Ngariyanbam Jameson (15) and Loitongbam Shitaljit (13) .
In the process, four of PTRC's wickets fell to Sarangthem Shangker and one each to Maibam Bijoykumar and Gelson Thoudam.
PTRC then took 35.2 overs to bowl out MPSC for 122 courtesy of Rajkumar Rex Singh who scalped four wickets while his fellow Deepak, Rohit Sharma Aribam and Khaidem Joyraj Meitei took two wickets apiece.
Taorem Jeem Singh (34 not out) was the main performer in MPSC's dismal run chase.
With his 81-run knock off 49 balls, Jotin Pheroijam earned the man of the match title.
CYCLONE, meanwhile, secured their sixth straight win by inflicting a 102-run defeat on REYS.
The winning side chose to bat first and scored 173/9 in 35 overs.
Their innings saw Kis-han Laishram top-score with 66, followed by Kabrambam Homendro (36), Bikash Singh (22), Maisnam Raju (14 not out) and Loktongbam Santosh (12).CYCLONE'S bowlers were clearly the stand out performers in their comprehensive victory as they wiped out REYS' batting order in 20.1 overs for a meagre 71.Loktongbam Santosh picked up three wickets as Bikash, Longjam Ronald and Aditya Das snapped two each to make short work of REYS' run chase.
Earlier, Romamrio and Md Basir Rahman claimed three wicket each, S Shangkar took two and Bikash bagged one for REYS.
Loktongbam Santosh was adjudged the man of the match for his three wickets and 12 runs.
