Justice for Sarita campaign concludes : Manipur People Stand For The Boxer; Handed Over Rs 1.2 Lakh

Imphal, September 23 2015 :
"Justice for Sarita", a campaign jointly launched by Manipur Olympic Association (MoA) and Editors Guild Manipur to raise $2000 (Appx Rs.1,20,000) fine slapped on Manipuri Boxer Sarita and her Coach Angom Lenin by AIBA have been closed on Wednesday.
A total amount of Rs 1.2 lakhs was handed over to Sarita and her husband Thoiba by the MOA president, Works Minister Kh Ratankumar, Youth Affairs and Sports Parliamentary Secretary M Prithviraj and president of Editors Guild Manipur, Ahongsangbam Mubi on Wednesday at the conference hall of Manipur Olympic Bhavan, Khuman Lampak.

A total of Rs 1,05,527 were donated by 85 people while Rs 15,000 was donated by the Works Minister Kh Ratankumar during the closing function.
The period of her ban will end on October 1 next.
Thanking the donators who had helped her and her coach at crucial times, Sarita promised to win the gold medal in Rio Olympics for the Manipur people.
Sarita is currently undergoing training under Asian Champion boxer Ngangom Dinku who is in Aurangabad of Maharashtra.
Sarita will then be leaving for London for special training session under Olympic Quest Programme.
