Thoubal boxing championship AUS emerge overall team champion

Athletic Union Sugnu (AUS) emerged the overall team champion of the 3rd Thoubal District Level Boxing Championship, organised by Thoubal District Amateur Boxing Association (THOUDABA) under the aegis of Manipur Amateur Boxing Association (MABA) at Thoubal Mela ground.
Overall team champion Athletic Union Sugnu (AUS) clinched 20 medals � 18 gold and 2 silver while LSA, Khangabok bagged 4 gold, 2 silver and 2 bronze to claim the runners up title.
In the final day of the championship, AUS won 5 gold and 2 silver medals.
SODEC, Heirok won one gold, MBCC took one silver medal while KBA, Khangabok and LSA, Khangabok bagged 2 silver medal each.

In today's sub-junior boy's 38kg (D-5) final, AUS's Kh Chinglemba beat KBA's Ch Manishor.
In the sub-junior girl's 44 kg (A-8) final, AUS's Kh Rediya defeated KBA's T Grace Chingngaihlian, In the junior boys bantam weight 56 kg, AUS's O Brandon beat MBCC's L Shantikumar.
In the sub junior boy's 52 kg (B-12) final, SODEC's Ak Naoton beat AUS's S Shyamsunder, In the 50 kg (C-11) final, AUS's L Bilotson beat LSA's Th Atom and in the 46 kg (C-9) final, AUS's A Sumanta Meitei beat LSA's L Julet.
The closing ceremony of the championship was graced by YAS Parliamentary Secretary M Prithiviraj, Khangabok A/C MLA O Landhoni Devi and MABA general secretary and IABF senior vice president Khoibi Salam, SAI, NERC Imphal Director Francis Marwein, SAI Imphal coach and dornacharya awardee L Ibomcha, THOUDABA president N Kuberand as chief guest, president and guests of honour respectively.
Altogether, 77 boxers including 19 girls from 8 different clubs � AUS Sugnu, KBA Khangabok, LSA Khangabok, MBC Wangjing, YDO, TLYC, OSYDC and SODEC Heirok participated in the championship.
