MU shooting, women's weightlifting teams announced

Imphal, December 30 2022: The Department of Sports, Manipur University has announced men's and women's shooting teams for the All India Inter University Shooting (M&W) Championships 2022-23 to be held at Swami Vivekanand Subharti University, Meerut, UP.

The men's championship will be held from February 15 to 19 while the women's championship will be held from February 19 to 23 .

The shooters who will be representing Manipur University at the championships are as follows.

Men's 10 M Air Rifle : Arvind Irungbam of MIT, Thelphomsang Kh of SEMCO and Th Telheiba of VIMIT;
Men's 10 M Air Pistol : Y Moramba of Manipur College, Jupiter Ashem of BM College and N Shona of BM College;
Women's 10 Air Rifle : Ng Sonia of Manipur College and S Chinglembi of SSG Girls' College;
Women's 10 M Air Pistol : P Sophiya of SSGG College, N Sonika of SSG Girls' College and Glory Ngangom of SSGG College.

The selected players were also instructed to report to the office of Assistant Director of Sports, MU at Dr Kamal Indoor Hall of MU on January 2 at 11 am for further details and coaching.

In a separate order, the Department also named the women's weightlifting team for the All India Inter University Weightlifting Championship 2022-23 to be held at University of Calicut, Calicut from January 27-29 .

The players who have made it to MU team are H Jinarani of KP College (49 kg), L Nilam (55 kg), T Shakhenbi (59 kg), K Roshilata (64 kg), S Chaoba (71 kg), A Tumina (76 kg) and W Anjali (81 kg) .

They were also instructed to report to the office of Assistant Director of Sports, MU at Dr Kamal Indoor Hall of MU on January 2 at 11 am for further details and coaching.
