Manipur steamroll Kerala in Hockey India Sub Junior Women National Cship opener

Hosts Manipur Hockey made a resounding start to campaign with a 9-0 demolition of Kerala Hockey in the opening match of 12th Hockey India Sub Junior Women National Championship 2022 at the Khuman Lampak Hockey Stadium on Wednesday.
Tanu Shorensangbam made the most of the rout with a hat-trick.
Tanu opened the scoring in the 14th minute and then made it 2-0 in the space of four minutes before she rounded off her treble in the 24th minute.
Kangabam Srmila Devi then struck in the fourth goal in the 30th minute as Laishram Ritu Devi upped the ante in the 33rd minute before Kangabam Srmila found her second goal and team's sixth goal in the 35th minute.
Captain Daina Ningombam Devi made it 7-0 in the 34th minute, Keisam Eleena Devi scored the eighth goal in the 47th minute and Thokchom Dainali Devi netted the ninth goal in the 55th minute to wrap up the comprehensive win as Manipur Hockey amassed three crucial points in the first Pool B fixture.
Manipur next play Hockey Jharkhand on May 17 .
