Imphal, January 09 2018: Tekcham Polo Club, CRPF Polo team and MPSC-B defeated their rivals today to cruise into the quarter finals of the ongoing 34th Men's State Level Polo Tournament.

The final match of the 1st Junior Boys (U-16) State Level Polo Tournament to be played between Samadon Ayangba-A and Tentha Polo Club has been fixed on January 14 .

In the first men's pre-quarter final match played today, Tekcham Polo Club drubbed Meiraba Polo Club 12-1 .

In this very lopsided match, Tekcham Polo Club led the first chukker 5-0 through goals scored by Kh Tomba (1), M Manihar (3) and S Ranjit (1) .

S Ranjit struck two goals in the second chukker for the Tentha side while his team mate O Dijen score one.

The single goal of the losing side came in this chukker through the mallet of T Amitkumar making the score read 1-8 .

M Manihar scored two goals in the third chukker of Tekcham Polo Club while Kh Tombi and A Manihar added one goal each in the fourth chukker to grab a 12-1 victory.

In the second pre-quarter final match of the day, CRPF Polo team and Paradise played out a very stiff competition resulting into a 5-5 draw.

CRPF scored one more goal in the additional chukker to cruise into the quarter final.

W Diken opened the account of the CRPF team in the first chukker followed by one goal each from O Samarjit and A Shyamananda While B Shantikumar of Paradise Club pulled two goals back to make it 3-2 .

S Shyamananda and O Samarjit scored one goal each again in the second chukker and extended the lead to 5-3 with another goal scored by Ak Ibomcha of Paradise Club.

Paradise Club clawed back in the last two chukkers adding one goal each through N Philippines and levelled the score at 5-5 .

Luckily the CRPF side took control of the additional chukker and it was Shyamananda who struck the winner.

In the last pre-quarter final match of the day, MPSC-B showed their riding and scoring skill to outclass Iboudhou Marjing Khubam Kanba Lup (IMKKL) 10-3 .

MPSC-B took control of the first chukker with a 2-0 lead through goals struck by H Abung Khuman.

M Jawan continued the goal fest for MPSC-B scoring twice in the second chukker followed by a single from Kh Nongpoknganba .

Th Ranjan of IMKKL managed to score a goal and made it 1-5 .

M Jawan and O Suresh then tapped in one goal each in the third chukker to hand their team a 7-3 lead with one goal each coming from Th Ranjan and Th Bhorot of the rival.

M Jawan emerged hero of the match scoring three in the last chukker and gave his team the quarter final berth with an easy 10-3 victory.
