Cycle expedition flagged off

Imphal, December 15 2019:
As a part of the National Institute of Mountaineering and Allied Sports' 4 Nation- 4 Riders-40 Days-4000 Km expedition, a cycle expedition christened 'Cycle for Green Earth' was flagged off today from the Kangla western gate at 8 am by Lok Sabha MP Dr Ranjan.
The expedition would follow Moreh (India)-Myanmar-Thailand-Malaysia (Singapore border) route and it is being participated by four riders led by National Institute of Mountaineering and Allied Sports (NIMAS), Dirang, Arunachal Pradesh Director Col Sarfraz Singh, according to a press release issued by the Manipur Mountaineering and Trekking Association (MMTA) .
During the flag off ceremony, a memorandum of understanding was signed between MMTA president Bijoy Kakchingtabam and NIMAS Director Col Sarfraz Singh.
The general purpose of this MoU is to establish an enduring framework for adventure tourism and cooperation between the two organisations to promote adventure sports including mountaineering and allied sports, water sports and aero sports in North East India, it conveyed.
