Churachandpur 1st Div league TUFC hold GSC; YCP, SMYC romp

Taqchapa United FC rallied to hold Ganggam Soccer Club (GSC) 3-3 while Youth Club of Pearsonmun (YCP) and S Molcham Youth Club (SMYC) romped to victories today in the ongoing Khaikhanlian Memorial District 1st Division league 2017 at Peace Ground, Tuibong .
Ganggam Soccer Club (GSC) and Taqchapa United FC (YUFC) played out an exciting 3-3 draw in a high-scoring encounter in today’s first match at 7 am .
Although GSC were quick to open their account as early in the 6th minute through M Khupneingir Koren, two late strikes from TUFC ensured a dramatic climax and force an eventful 3-3 draw .
A after GSC made the breakthrough in the 6th minute, TUFC drew level as Kam Benjohn found the net barely two minutes later .
It was K Pautinmang who handed another lead to GSC in the 34th minute and the team went into the break with a one-goal lead .
GSC came out all guns blazing at the restart of the match and Ginlalthuom Gangte made a spectacular score to add another goal into their account in the 65th minute.
GSC were sitting pretty at that stage with a two-goal cushion.
But it was the time TUFC upped their game and eventually forced GSC to settle for a stalemate .
TUFC rallied to find the net through Paukhojam in the 71st minute and another goal by Paulalson ensured the two teams share one apiece.
In the second match of the day, YC Pearsonmun notched an easy 3-0 win over FC Zotal .
Mangthianmuan of YC Pearsonmun starred as he hit a hat-trick to help his team collect all full points.
Pearsonmun dominated the game right from the word go and Mangthianmuan made the first breakthrough in the 23rd minute.
He struck another goal ten minutes later .
Penalty was awarded in favour of YCP after one of their forwards was brought down by FC Zotal defenders inside the box in the dying minutes of the first half.
Mangthianmuan stepped forward to take the spot kick and made no mistake in beating their rival custodian to complete his hat-trick .
The match restarted with YCP’s easy 3-0 lead.
Zotal forwards upped their efforts to make foray into their rivals’ citadel.
But the script did not change for Zotal as they slumped to a defeat .
The day also saw a one-sided match between FC Zion and S Molcham Youth Club where the later overwhelmed by a record 5-0 margin .
Ngamginsei (27′ and 63′), Tonggin Haokip (42′), Thangminlen Haokip (62′) and Thangboilen Touthang (28′) found their names in the scorers’ list of S Molcham YC.
