Champ veterans thump UCC

Discipline bowling by Champ, Khagempali bowlers ensured a narrow two run victory over UCC, Uripok in a low scoring contest in the 2nd Twenty-20 Manipur Veteran Cricket Tournament played today at Langthabal Public Ground.
Put in to bat first, Champ posted 126 for six with eventual man of the match Tejbanta's contribution of 47 runs from 44 balls proving decisive in the end.
Ninghor 24 (20), Imo 18 (18) and Lalboy 15 (10) were the other notable contributors to the Champ score.
Even though UCC's Mac Mohan compiled a patient 58 runs from 60 deliveries to emerge as the highest run getter in the contest, the Uripok side inspite of losing only four batsmen chasing the opponents' total could not score at will and ultimately conceded defeat by one of the narrowest margins so far in the tournament.
With Lalboy scalping two rival batsmen and Kangjamba accounting for one, the UCC run chase ended at 124 for 4 .
IWVCC and Cyclone will play tomorrow.
