31st MKS Sports Meet concludes with Willong Khullen as champions

The MKS 31st Sports Meet 2018 which was held at Mini Stadium Senapati district headquarter with the theme "Winning Peace Together" concluded yesterday with Willong Khullen winning the Men's football and Women's volleyball.
Altogether 27 units from different Maram Villages participated the week long sports festival.
Amidst large crowd, the Valedictory session was graced by ADC Chairman ML Markson, as the chief guest and Dy Chairman Luba Thomas as host in the presence of ADC Executive member Sapunii, ADC Member Rangpung John, Tadubi SDO PP Ronald, Chakpikarong SDO Rang David, SBI chief manager Kangba, Pungding, Assistant Professor MU, Maram union leaders, MKS senior members and church leaders.
Speaking on the occasion, Luba Thomas appreciated the MKS for organizing such meet as it provides an opportunity to explore and showcase hidden talents what God has given to our youth.
He appealed the players to show their skills and discipline to show their true sportsmanship to the people and wish them grand success.
ADC Chairman Markson who gave away prizes and cheques to winning team noted that sport is an important element in our society as it brings unity among the different villages, tribe and communities.
"If we have strong faith in God, nothing is impossible", he said.
The former PNU president and NPO president before joining politics appealed the youth to be well educated and contribute maximum for welfare of the Society.
Before the MKS football final showdown, an exhibition match was played between Maram employed club and MKS senior leaders.
The final match played between Willong Khullen and Katomei Centre FC witnessed the toughest and spectacular game in the recent MKS sports meet as both team were leveled to 1-1 till the extra time final whistle taking the match to a decisive penalty shootout.
All five Willong Khullen players made no mistake to miss their important penalties as Katiimsum FC missed two goals to crown the Willong Khullen team the new MKS football champions.
In the Men's Volleyball Championship, hitters and spikers Maram Khullen won championship after defeating powerhouse Ramlong Village.
Willong Khullen women won the Women's Volleyball defeating its neighbor sister village Pumdumlong.
The Best football discipline team was awarded to Tumuyon Khullen, best Goal keeper to L Kabipa of Tumuyon Khullen, Men of the Tournament award to R.K.Emanuel of Willong Khullen, First Hattrick to Kabilung of T Khullen, Best Defender to K Karaiba of Katomei Centre, Golden Boot to R Bamning of Willong Khullen.
The Men's Volleyball best player was awarded to Soiba Sebastian of Ramlong village while Women's Best player of the Tournament Volleyball was awarded to K.J.Ranga of Pumdumlong.
