Apollosana clinches Chess title

For a record fourth time, Manipur's top-seeded RK Apollosana clinched the 20th Y Nilamani Memorial State Level Chess Tournament-2015 title.
Scoring 7.5 points, Apollosana claimed the title after holding A Bankim to a draw in 18 moves in the 9th and final round today at the auditorium of Manipur College.
A total of 68 players including 25 rated players registered for participation in the tournament organised by Singjamei Chess Club.

The closing cum prize distribution function was attended by Prof (Dr) Binota Meitram, president, WSC, Chingamakha and N Narayan Singh, president, SCC as the dignitaries.
Apollosana was presented a rolling trophy and Rs 7,500 while the second position winner RK Bhogen was presented a certificate and Rs 3,500.Rs 2,500 and a certificate were presented to the third position winner G Inai Sharma while a consolation prize comprising of Rs 200 and a certificate were presented to the senior most player of the tournament N Arunkumar.
