State girls win team event as boys falter in final at Sepaktakraw nat'ls

Manipur won the girls' team event while the state boys' team faltered at the last hurdle in the 26th Junior National Sepaktakraw Championship 2022 underway at Patliputra Sports Complex, Patna, Bihar.
The state girls defeated Haryana in dominant style in their summit clash.
They took the first set 21-13, 21-13 and made sure of their title triumph with a 21-13, 15-21, 21-16 result in the second set.
Earlier in the semifinal, Manipur outplayed Odisha (1st: 21-10, 24-25, 21-18; 2nd: 21-19, 21-11) .
In the final of the boys' team event, Manipur lost to Delhi by a 2-1 margin.
The state boys had promising start by producing a 21-17, 21-17 win in the first set but they lost 17-21, 24-22, 14-21 in the second set and the match went in favour of Delhi after they secured a 21-14, 22-20 victory in the third set.
Earlier in the semifinal, the state boys beat Tamil Nadu 2-0 (1st set: 21-9, 21-15; 2nd: 21-7, 21-17) .
Meanwhile, Manipur made a rousing start to their campaign in the boys' regu event by racking up an astonishing string of back-to-back wins on Wednesday.
The state team started off with a 2-0 victory against Madhya Pradesh, followed by the same margin wins against Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Karnataka.
