CCpur, December 07 2019:
The Lamka Soccer Club has today wrapped up a week-long trial it has conducted for boys below the years of 12 at the Grassroots artificial turf, Churachandpur with forty boys making it to the initial cut.
The boys will be nurtured by LSC Academy staff for a year free of cost as the club has partnered with NHPC Loktak Project.
The maiden project of both the club and the NHPC, aspires to hone the soccer skills of about 40 boys and nurture them at the artificial turf recently launched by the District Administration at the district youth hostel campus.
NHPC, the main sponsor of the project has taken up the project under their CSR initiative through the District Administration Churachandpur.
Officials from the academy said State of the art training facilities will be provided to the local boys that make the cut today.
Sports gear, training items and many other facilities will all be provided free of cost.
Staff of the Academy also said, future avenues for the boys after their year-long training at the academy will also be taken up with other established football academies across the country by inviting them for trial.
The absence of proper guidance and training avenues for children in the district, despite possessing so many talented kids, is the one reason that robed the district of real talents bloom.
The lack of resources is the main grounds for the lack of such protracted exercise.
However, the NHPC has step in to fill the gap through the District Administration, and it has a potential to flip that script for local kids now, said Muana G, from the Academy.
