17th DMT cricket tourney begins

Under the auspices of Devala Memorial Trust BASU Khangabok, the 17th Devala Memorial Trophy Tennis Ball Cricket Tournament, 2014has began from today at the playground of Blooming Athletics & Sports Union(BASU) Khangabok.
In all 33 teams are taking part in the tournament.
The winner of the Tournament awarded a cash prize of Rs 15,000 along with a running trophy while the runners' up team would get Rs 10,000 plus a trophy.
Besides, there are many individual awards up for grab in the tournament.
The inaugural function of the Tournament was attended by Parliamentary Secretary in-charge of Youth Affairs & Sports and Tourism M Prithviraj Singh as chief guest, MLA of Khangabok A/C Okram Landhoni Devi as functional president while Adhyaksha of Thoubal Zilla Parishad Kh.Surnalata Devi,Deputy Commissioner Thoubal T.Ranjit Singh,IAS and Pradhan of Khangabok Part-I gram Panchayat Kh.Rajmohon Singh as guests of honour.
On the first day of the tournament, a exhibition match was played between WYC-Wangkhem and SSCC-Naoriya Pakhanglakpa.
