Lily Chanu again performs as India crush Singapore 12-0 in 7th Women's Junior Asia Cup

Lily Chanu Mayengbam continued to score for the Indian team on Sunday as Indian Junior Women's team continued its winning ways as they thrashed Singapore 12-0 in their second encounter of the 7th Women's Junior Asia Cup at Changzhou, China.
It may be mentioned that Lily Chanu scored the fifth goal for India in the 31st minute against DPR Korea on Saturday when India thrashed DPR Korea 13-0.Mayengbam Lily Chanu d/o M Naba of Singjamei Wangma Kshetri Leikai penetrated the Singaporean defence on Sunday and scored from a penalty corner in the 49th minute.
Lily Chanu is the lone Manipuri hockey player in the Indian team for the Junior Asia Cup which will be held from September 5-13 .
High on confidence after outplaying DPR Korea on Saturday, Indian eves displayed an aggressive approach right from the first minute of the game.
Singapore, on the other hand, started on a cautious note and tried keeping the possession, but Indians with their experience went on the attack, piercing through their defence.
From the word go, the Indian eves kept on pressing for a goal and eventually earned a penalty corner early in the match.
But unfortunately Jaspreet Kaur played the ball wide of the post.
However, a series of attack continued and Punam Balra finally broke the shackles in the 6th minute of the match to give India a 1-0 lead and India maintained the same intensity when Lily Chanu Mayengbam scored from a penalty corner in the 49th minute which later ended the match 12-0 .
