All-round ESU thrash TCMDC en route to final

Imphal, August 06 2022:
ESU (Wangkhei Palace Compound) thumped TCMDC (Thongju) by 8 wickets on their way to the final of the 1st MNCA U-14 Boys Tournament.
Bishomcha Khundrakpam wreaked havoc on the TCMDC batting order as the ESU bowler scalped 6 wickets from his lethal 6-over spell that helped the Wangkhei side skittle out their Thongju opponents for 102 in 22.3 overs.
Hanjabam Naoba Sharma did his part for ESU with 2 wickets as Soibam Venus Singh and N Kenedy accounted for 1 each.
TCMDC's innings saw Rain Urikhimbam (31), Lokeshor Khumanthem (22) and Laishram Valindra (11) emerge as main run-getters while 5 of their other batters got dismissed for a duck.
After their dazzling bowling display, ESU took just 12 overs to knock off the target for the loss of 2 wickets.
Hanjabam Donba Sharma led from the front with an unbeaten 34 off 30 balls as Md Atif Shah scored 34 off 32 balls and M Amitkiyon contributed 10 off 12 balls in their dominant run chase.
ESU lost 2 of their wickets to Laishram Valindra.
Bishomcha Khundrakpam earned the man of the match title for his 6-wicket haul.
ESU and PTRC will in action in the final on August 8 at Lu-wangpokpa Cricket Ground, Luwangsangbam.
