JSYC scratched from 23 Winners' Cup

JSYC (Jamsat Songtum Youth Club) of DSA Sadar Hills have been scratched from the ongoing 23rd Thangjam Birachandra-Maipakpi Memorial Winners' Cup for Men 2019 organised by All Manipur Football Association for featuring 5 ineligible players.
The team were also slapped with a fine of Rs 15,000 payable on or before March 31.The decision to scratch came after Manipur Police Sports Club lodged a protest against JSYC questioning the eligibility of 5 players of the latter's team and a meeting of "Disciplinary Committee of the Cup" was held on March 23 to look into the matter and found that Ngamkhougin Kipgen was a registered player of Mohun Bagan AC and represented the team in the Hero Elite League (U-18) of AIFF during 2018-19.Moreover, Sonpu of FC Khanglai and Lunginthang Kipgen of Hengbung Youth Club who were fielded by the team against MPSC in the 7th match of the tournament played on March 19 were found to be players on loan.
The two players also found to have served for Muvanlai Athletics, Kangpokpi on loan from the respective teams and the status of these players were not mentioned properly.
On the basis of the above issues, the disciplinary committee came up with the decision to scratch the team and imposed the fine.
The committee also warned DSA Sadar Hills to be more cautious in future in verifying the players of their teams.
The committee also decided to award full points to MPSC.
