Befitting tribute paid to Brojeshori

Hundreds of people today turned up to pay their last respect to the first Indian woman Olympian judoka L Brojeshori Devi, who passed away at a private hospital in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu on Monday.
Family members of the late judoka, London Olympian bronze medalist Mary Kom, world boxing champion Sarita, noted cyclist H Rameshwori, members of judo associations, judokas, fans and others received the soul less body of the Olympian that was brought back by a team of CRPF at Tulihal Airport here at around 12.30PM.A special contingent of CRPF escorted the body upto her paternal home, Khagempalli Huidrom Leikai, where local clubs, organisations, family members and others paid floral tribute to the departed soul.
Judoka players, coach, members of various judo associations, players of different disciplines paid another rich to the departed soul floral tribute at Khuman Lampak SAG.
Later, the body was taken to her present home place at Tabungkhok, where the last rites were performed amidst gun salute by a CRPF contingent.
