Football ground inaugurated at Bendramai

Senapati, May 15 2018:
Peter Khrasi, president, Mao Council today inaugurated a football ground at St Mary's School, Bendramai in place of N Kayisii, Minister, Tribal Affairs and Hills, Fisheries, Govt of Manipur who was supposed to inaugurate the ground as the chief guest.
Dingau Hau, Deputy Chairman, ADC, Senapati and Pradip Singh, IPS, Superintendent of Police, Senapati also attended the inauguration programme as the guest of honour and special guest respectively.
Local Minister, N Kayisii who sponsored financially in making the ground for upper Zeliang people of the region had to defer the program for other schedules.
To mark the inauguration of the football ground, a sports meet called Upper Zeliang sports kicked off with 11 football clubs from different villages of the region participating in the tournament.
Speaking on the occasion, Peter Khrasi conveyed the message of the Minister and thanked the people of the region to have elected him.
In his message, the president said that the minister too has the determination to develop the region and urged the gathering to extend their full support to the cause.
He also asked the students and youth of the region to have a strong determination to achieve one's goal through giving efforts to studies where no power on earth could stop from becoming great persons in future if one continues to strive for the highest.
Deputy Chairman, ADC, Senapati Dingau Hau in his speech thanked the minister concerned for making their long cherished dream of having a football playground since long as well as for setting up of different government departments in the region through the tireless efforts of the minister for the betterment of the region.
He called the present students and youth of the region to be lucky to have a proper playground within their reach and asked the students to give more importance in education without which, no change or improvement can come in the field of development in the region.
Pradip Singh, IPS, Superintendent of Police, Senapati also stressed on the importance of health, sports and education.
Later, interesting exhibition match between Minister XI team versus Diocesan Fraternity Imphal FC consisting of the Fathers' team was played where the earlier won the match by 1-0 .
Many dignitaries including the SDO/BDO Willong Block, Principal and Parish Priests of different locations, official delegates from the NPO, SDSA, SDOAM, federating units of the SDSA including the Maram Students Union, Mao Students Union, vice president of the Mao Council, Co-Convenor, Tadubi Youth Front etc.
attended the program.
