Manipur emerge overall team champions at Sub -Jr Judo Nationals

Imphal, September 11 2018:
Manipur Sub-Junior Judo team were crowned overall team champions with a haul of 11 gold, 3 silver and 4 bronze medals at the Sub-Junior National Judo Championship 2018 held from September 7 to 11 in Una, Himachal Pradesh.
Linthoi Chananbam was also adjudged best judokan at the championship.
State boys stacked up 6 gold medals, 2 silver and 2 bronze medals while the girls collected 5 gold, 1 silver and 2 bronze medals to help Manipur clinch the overall team title.
Medallists of respective age groups are as follows: .
Boys and Girls Age Group-I : Th Boboysana (above 45 kg), N Matou Chanu (36 kg), S Kritina (40 kg) , L Monalisa (above 40 kg) bagged one gold medal each in age group-I category while M Wangthoi (40kg) and Yumnam Yohenba (30 kg) won a silver and a bronze respectively.
Boys and Girls Age Group-II : T Bison (35 kg), H Rishikanta (40 kg), N Rohit (45 kg), Th Maloti Devi (36 kg) and I Kalpana Devi (44 kg) won gold medals for Manipur in the age group -II competitions while N Sheetal (above 50 kg boys) and M Roshibina (44 kg) bagged one silver and a bronze medal respectively.
Boys and Girls Age Group-III : N Rakesh (55 kg), Max Laishram (66 kg) and Linthoi Chanambam (57 kg) won one gold medal respectively in the age group-II competitions while Asem Nishita (44 kg) and H Sunandi Devi (52 kg) claim one bronze medal each.
The team were led by Chingkheinganba H and A Suraj Meitei as coaches; and Ch Ibohal as manager.
