YWC book semis spot in Superplate Tournament

YWC (Langthabal) confirmed their place in the semifinals of the 1st MNCA Superplate Tournament by wrapping up their league round campaign with a comprehensive 72-run win over PCC (Mayai Koibi) at Luwangpokpa Cricket Stadium on Tuesday.
With the result, the Langthabal squad emerged winners of the Group A table, securing seven wins from seven games in the league stage.
They collected a total of 14 points.
Opting to bat first, YWC posted 209/4 in the stipulated 40 overs.
Ngangbam Bikram -jit shone with the bat for his side, smashing an unbeaten century off 108 balls as Seram Robinson made valuable 50, with Ngangbam Bishwash contributing 28.Ngangbam Maheshkumar scored 8 (not out) .
In reply, PCC could only manage 137 after they were all out in 39 overs.
Bobby Khangembam (34) and Longjam Gibson (31) were notable performers for the Mayai koibi team in their run chase.
For YWC, Ngangbam Bish-wash was the pick of the bowlers.
He scalped 4 wickets.
Maibam Subash and Laishram Dinachandra claimed 2 wickets each and Yenshenbam Vivek took one.
Earlier, Thokchom Anand bagged 2 wickets while Lourembam Dipu and Chungkham.Kenny accounted for one apiece for PCC.
Ngangbam Bikramjit (100 not out) took the man-of-the-match trophy.
In other Group A meeting, PTCC (Patsoi) beat Muvanlai (New Lambulane) by 18 runs in a low-scoring match at Langthabal Public Ground.
PTCC chose to bat first and were all out for 135 in 25.5 overs.
Dominic Moirangthem (46 not out), Paonam Champion (26) and Sadananda Okram (20) were key run-getters in their innings.
In response, Muvanlai came up short after being bowled out for 118 in 29 overs.
Nan-dakumar (35), Gouminlun Kipgen (26) and Avinash Asmai (11) were the batters who scored in double figures in a losing cause.
Deepak was the chief destroyer for PTCC.
He got 5 wickets in his 8-over spell.
, Sohail Akram and Sadananda Okram snapped 2 wickets each as Amom Samuel took one to help their side seal the victory.
Earlier, Khaikhotinlal Ha okip finished with a 4-wicket haul, Gouminlun Kipgen claimed 3 scalps, Sanjay Kaphle bagged 2 wickets and Soorat Kaphle took one for Muvanlai.
Deepak was named man of the match.
