GJYC claim Inter-Wage football tourney title

An inter village football championship being organized by 86 Bn CRPF at Hindi High School ground Kanglatongbi from February 1 concluded today with GJYC, Hathikhuwa as the winners.
The closing ceremony of the tournament was graced by Brig (Retd) SK Sharma, YSM, DIGP CRPF Imphal as chief guest, Sh Kalyan Singha, Commandant 86 Bn, Narayan Balai, 2 I/C and village Pradhan and huge spectators from nearby villages also witnessed the final match played between Hathikhuwa GJYC and Vijaynagar, VYA which was won by Hathikhuwa GJYC by 4-1 goals.
The chief guest expressed the gratitude to all the participant teams and villagers, for extending full cooperation and enthusiastic participation in the tournament.
He thanked the organiser for such event.
He further mentioned that CRPF will carry out different kinds of activities under the civic action programme.
Speaking in the event Sh Kalyan Singha, Commandant 86 Bn CRPF expressed that the tournament was conducted to build a cordial relation between local villagers and security forces to establish co-ordination for peace development and to promote the youths for their participation in sport activities, also to spread the message that security forces deployed in this region are dedicated not only for the security and safety of the local public but to fill the gap 6f inadequacy between public and Govt agencies.
Village Chief of Kanglatongbi and the public of the region applauded such beneficial initiative of 86 Bn CRPF and extended their immense gratitude with the hope of many more similar beneficial events in coming future.
The winners and runners up teams were awarded with trophies, medals and other sports materials.
Best scorer, emerging best players were also adjudged and awarded with trophies and medals.
The programme was concluded with the vote of thanks by Deewan Chhettri, Secretary KGYA, said a statement of Commandant - 86 Bn CRPF.
