Tapon Chuncham FC make history at LSA

Coming from a small community with just 40 households, Tapon Chuncham Football Club (TCFC) made history by winning eight straight matches and securing first runners up of the 26th All Liangmei Sports Association Football League after they suffer loss to Nallong FC in the final.
With over 50 teams from different villages of Manipur, Nagaland and Assam, the tournament started on January 9 and ended on January 22 .
The underdog team, TCFC entered the league with inexperienced and young players yet the team managed to reach the final with 8 straight wins.
The masses who witnessed their matches stated that alongside great team spirit, Tapon Chuncham Football Club showed immense courage and determination throughout the tournament.
TCFC Loveson Chawang and Obed Newmai were adjudged as player of the match and keeper of the match respectively of the semi final.
"We are grateful to Max Sports Academy (based at Delhi) for showing their trust and support.
Without their support we could have not reached so far," Tapon Chuncham Football Club Manager Athin Newmai and Ramridinbou Newmai said after the match.
They called the tournament a "beautiful celebration of football" .
The success would surely lead to development of football in the village Tapon and could attract more players to take up football as a career.
