CYCLONE, RCA extend winning runs at U-16 Boys Cricket Tournament

CYCLONE and RCA posted narrow wins in today's Group A league matches of the 2nd MNCA Naorem Rajningthou Singh Memorial Trophy 2020.At Luwangpokpa Cricket Ground, CYCLONE, Thangmeiband survived scare to beat CRAU, Khamnam Bazar by 3 runs.
After electing to bat first, CYCLONE were bowled out for 93 runs in 20.2 overs as T Nikhil and I Nikhil of CRAU wreaked havoc across their batting line up with their fine bowling performances.
Ali Karim who came out as opener managed 19 runs off 32 balls before Bonny made an impressive middle order knock of 27 runs en route to CYCLONE's 93 runs total as other batsmen fell down with single digit scores or on ducks.
T Nikhil and I Nikhil enjoyed three wicket hauls in this innings while their team mate Joyhenba picked up two wickets.
CRAU's however had a dismal start in reply losing the two openers in quick succession before Herin came out and anchored the innings with an unbeaten 34 runs knock.
The team however slumped at 90 runs in 24.5 overs as Herin's partner on the other end had short stays with fewer runs or went out on ducks.
Bikash was the best bowler CYCLONE had today as he scalped four crucial wickets in 6 overs while Samsung and Ali Karim had two wickets each in their names thereby helping CYCLONE earn a narrow 3 wicket win.
RCA beat PTCC by 8 runs.
In the match at Model Higher Secondary & Oriental College ground, RCA Lilong won the toss and batted first to pile up 124 for 9 in 27.2 overs before restricting PTCC to 116 runs.
Only Zamir (15), Imran (22) and Saad (20) could score double digits for RCA.
Imran who fetched most runs (22 off 18 balls) for the team and scalped one wicket in the second innings was named the man of the match.
In PTCC's bowling, Sylvas, Bobosana and Bryan Sena scalped 2 wickets each while Ch Nikhil and Gung Gung downed 1 wicket apiece.
PTCC Patsoi came close to their target but lost all wickets in 29 overs to collect 116 runs.
Hiras (16), Nikhil Kumar (12) and Tanisq were the only double digit scorers in the chase as Iliyas, Pravesh, Zahid and Zamir also scalped one wicket each for RCA.
