State blind cricket team flagged off

Imphal, November 18 2019:
A 16 member Manipur cricket team for the blind was flagged off today for the participation at the 2nd Edition of Nagesh Trophy, National Cricket Trophy for the blind to be held on November 22 and 23 in Ludhiana Punjab under the aegis of Cricket Association for the Blind in India.
The flag off programme was attended by all advisors, office bearers and members of the Welfare Association for the Blind Manipur (WABM) said a press statement of the association.

As per the statement, the athletes who will be representing Manipur are, Yulhung Shungrei Chothe, Pebam Gobinchand Singh, Danni Abisua, Mayengbam Naoba Singh, Heisnam Kumar, Huidrom Bishwajit Singh, Md Ayubkhan, Herojit Singh, Pritam Singh, Sumon Ghosh, Premkumar Leishangthem, Shyam Sunder, Mongyamba Leishangthem and Kh Joykumar.
Accompanying them are Kangujam Chand Singh, as team manager and Laishram Premjit Singh as team coach.
The team will play two league matches during the two days.
The matches will serve as a platform to select and prepare Indian team that would participate in the forthcoming international champions.
