24th Konghom Area Sports Meet concludes

N Boljang Youth Club (NBYC) clinched the title of the 24th Konghom Area Sport Meet, 2016 men's football held at S Saisijang village in Konghom area under Saikul AC today while A Geljang Youth Club bagged the men's volleyball title and Twisomjang Youth Club won the women's volleyball title.
The two weeklong sports meet organised by Konghom Area Youth Development Union (KAYDU) under the theme "Friendship through Sports" was participated by more than 21 teams from different parts of the area.

Sadar Hills ADC member Thongjalun Mate and Social Worker Hopson Kuki graced the closing ceremony of the sports meet as chief guest and guest of honour respectively while MPS Thangkhochon Haokip and Konghom Chief Association chairman Laltinsei Sitlhou also attended the function as functional president and chief host respectively.
In the men's football final, N Boljang Youth Club (NBYC) blanked S Saisijang Youth 2-0.Paolenlal and Paoneo scored a goal each for the winning team in the 2nd and 13th minute respectively.
A Geljang Youth defeated N Chaljang Youth in the men's volleyball final match while Twisomjang thrashed K Molpi Youth Club in the women's volleyball final.
The men's football champion team were awarded a cash prize of Rs 9,000 and a trophy while runners up team were awarded with a cash prize of Rs 6,000 and a trophy.
Winners of volleyball teams were awarded a cash prize of Rs 2,500 with a trophy while a cash prize of Rs 1,500 along with a trophy were awarded to the runners up.
Paoneo Haokip of NBYC bagged the KAYDU Emerging Player award and Semminthang Haokip of S Saisijang Youth Club clinched the best goalkeeper title.
Haoneo Haokip of S Saisijang Youth Club and Mangneo Haokip of K Molpi Youth Club respectively won the hat-trick and top scorer awards.
