MRC, TBSFA-B emerge champions in TBSFA football

MRC, Lilong Chajing and host TBSFA-B emerged champions in U-16 and U-13 categories respectively as the State Level 5th U-13 and 10th U-16 Th Birachandra Singh Football Academy (TBSFA), Football Tournament concluded today at TBSFA Sports Complex, Taobungkhok, Imphal West.
In U-16 category, MRC, Lilong Chajing defeated LASHAL, Leimapokpam with a solitary goal and lifted the champion's trophy.
The match was an equally contested match between the two teams.
The solitary winning goal of MRC was scored in the 3rd minute of the match by Romario.
Unable to open their goal account, LASHAL players did their best to equalise the score but all their attempts failed to yield any positive result, as the defence of their opponent was too good for them.
On the other hand, MRC players who were leading the match with a goal fought tough in the bid to defend their position.
Dingku, Tiken of MRC and P Naoton of LASHAL were issued yellow cards for their unsporting behaviour during the match.
W Suresh of WAFA, Wangoi who scored five goals in the tournament, won the title of Top Scorer.
BMSC-B was adjusted Fair Play team.
Billu of BMSC won the Most Promising Player's title while MRC custodian Robin bagged the title of Best Goalkeeper.
Romario MRC won the Best Player's title and the title for Best Defender went to Jimpo of BMSC-B .
Winner MRC was awarded a cash prize of Rs 25,000 along with the trophy.
Runners up LASHAL, Leimapokpam won Rs 15,000 cash prize along with the trophy.
Meanwhile, in the U-13 category, host TBSFA-B defeated SKDC, Sanjenbam 6-1 in the final match played today and won the champion's trophy.
Ramjane of TBSFA scored two goals in the 10th and 21st minutes of the match.
Jinesh scored three goals in the 12th, 40th and 42nd minutes while his teammate Joysana scored one goal in the 33rd minute.
On the other hand, T Digvijay scored the lone goal for SKDC in the 24th minute of the match.
Jimpio and Kishan of TBSFA got yellow cards for playing fouls during the match.
Borish of SKDC won the Best Player's title while the title for Best Defender went to Naoba of TBSFA.
GDC, Thinungei won the Best Discipline Team's title.
TBSFA-B custodian Adission was adjusted Best Goalkeeper while the title of Most Promising Player went to M Joysana of TBSFA.
Jinesh of TBSFA-B who scored 10 goals in the tournament won the Top Scorer's title.
Winning team TBSFA-B won Rs 20,000 cash along with the trophy.
Runner up team SKDC, Sanjenbam won Rs 12,000 cash along with the trophy.
Mention may be made that the tournament was kicked off from February 2 at TBSFA Sports Complex, Taobungkhok Makha Leikai.
The U-16 category was participated by 11 teams while eight teams competed in the U-13 category.
