FootGal 2019: Semi-final line-up completed

Lamka Sports Club (LSC), Victor Rest Farm FC, Avoi FC and HoMES FA tonight stormed to the Semi-Finals of the ongoing FootGal 2019 organised by District Administration, Churachandpur as part of its promotion of awareness on Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) initiative at Rayburn HS campus.
One of the big favourites Lamka Sports Club (LSC) crushed Rayburn FC by an astounding 8-1 margin tonight to cruise into the semi-finals.
LSC made a perfect start and it was Lalvawmoi who handed the lead to LSC when she fired in the opener in the 7th minute.
Rayburn FC were stunned again when LSC's strike prodigy Ch Binomala Chanu superbly swept home one in the 11th minute.
Lalvawmoi and Binomala Chanu struck twice each in the first half and the two sides went to the break with the 4-0 lead intact.
The second half of the match also saw the two strike machines of LSC at their best as they took turn to hit goal after goals.
Lalvawmoi hammered in three more goals while Binomala struck once more in the second half to cap the winners for LSC.
Moibiak pulled one back for Rayburn FC.
The tournament's special guests tonight were Shri Rakesh Ranjan, IAS, Principal Secretary (Finance) and family; Smt.
Mannuamching, DC Pherzawl; Shri Pawan Yadav, DC Churachandpur apart from other DLOs of Churachandpur.
In the second quarter final match tonight, hot favourites Victor Rest Farm FC demolished Lawmvual Lungtuak FC 4-0 to book their semifinal berth.
The match belonged to Victor Rest Farm FC as they were on a scoring spree right from the first minute of the game.
Wangneikim Kom and Moibiaksiam hit a brace each to seal the match.
In what could be a major heartbreak of the tournament, Avoi FC stunned last year finalists Lenlai Club by a slender 1-0 margin in a closely fought quarter final encounter tonight.
Lenlai Club and Avoi FC took off to an interesting start stringing a series of runs and interceptions.
Against the run of play, the game shifted towards Avoi FC as Kimnunmoi was bang on target to hand the much needed lead to her team in the 13th minute.
The Lenlai Club replied with a flurry of raids down either flank to equalize the score but their rivals' defence stood firm to thwart the onslaught within their citadel.
The two teams bounced back after the break with renewed vigour.
Even as spirited Lenlai Club went all guns blazing and looked desperate to bring parity, they just failed to put the ball past the Avoi FC custodian.
The last quarter final match, HoMES FA clinched to 2-0 victory against CDS FC to join three others in the semifinal.
The two sides battled to a goalless draw till the first half and the late winners for HoMES FA came through Mawithiannem and Sarah Lalruatdiki Colney in the 35th and 39th minute respectively.
In the first semi-final match tomorrow, Lamka Sports Club will lock horns with Avoi FC at 6 PM while Victor Rest Farm FC clash with HoMES FA in the last SF match at 7.30 PM .
