31st Senior State Archery C'ship; Kumari Sapana earns ARAC Olympic Round gold

Imphal, December 14 2019:
Kumari Sapana Singh won ARAC a gold medal in the individual Olympic Round gold beating Sheetal Kumari of NSA in the gold medal match at the 31st Senior (Men and Women) State Archery Championships, 2019 being organised by Kha Manipur Archery Club under the aegis of Manipur Archery Association.
In the individual Olympic Round gold medal match for women, Kumari Sapana Singh of ARAC collected 6 points against 0 by Sheetal Kumari of NSA to help her unit rise on top of the medal tally while Sanabam Nirmala of YAC bagged the bronze medal in this event.
M Sunder on the other hand earned the Olympic Round gold for men by securing 7 points in the final match which saw his unit mate M Chingkhei finish with 3 points.
ARAC's Ishak Sinate bagged the bronze medal.
YAC's women team of Sanabam Nirmala, Sanabam Jenefer, Sarju Ningthoujam and Haobam Surjalata bagged the Indian round team title.
They shot same 5 points as ARAC's team of Kumari Sapana Singh, SP Lydia, Dipika Patir and Y Bharti did but emerged on top as they made closest strikes to the centre.
MPSC women's team consisting of H Rajpriyari Devi, K Manavidya Devi, B Lucy Devi and Ch Ibemcha Devi finished third to win the bronze medals.
KMAC's men's team of H Bijendranath, Chungkham Bison, W Britenjit singh and L Bobby, on the other hand won the Indian Round team gold by beating ARAC by 5-3 points.
P Heroba Singh, Zhokhoto Demo, Ishak Sinate and Ch Johnson Singh featured for ARAC.
BCAC team consisting of Thongam Heller, Chanambam Borish and L Millan Meitei won the bronze medal in this event.
ARAC are now at the pole position in the medal tally with 2 gold, 4 silver and 2 bronze while SAIRC are in the second place with 2 gold, 2 silver and 1 bronze medal.
The championship will conclude tomorrow.
